Al Pacino

Alfredo James Pacino, better known as Al Pacino is an american film and stage actor and director. Born April 25th, 1940 (age 73) was born in East Harlem, New York. As you may know already his heritage is Italian. Before his film journey, he began as a baseball player. He dropped out of many class, but English class, but unfortunately he left school at the age of 17 (High school Drop-Out). He worked many small jobs like a janitor, clerk...

He began acting in New York city. As he didn't have much money he usually slept at friends houses, or the streets; he was homeless.

After four years at HB studio, Pacino successfully auditioned for the Actors Studio. It's a membership for professional actors, theatre directors, and playwrights.

Al's first acting gig in a film was in 1971, a film called The Panic in Needle Park, which he played a heroin addict, which brought attention to himself by director Francis Ford Coppola, who later on ended up directing the film The God Father. Al Pacino played the role Michael Corleone in the movie, (he even beat out Robert De Niro for the role) which was the God Father's son. His performance got him an Academy Award nomination.

2 years later he played in many other movies such as Scarecrow, Serpico. In the sequel to The God Father, he starred again as Michael Corleone, which was the first sequel to win the Best Picture Oscar, and then nominated for his third Oscar. Later on The God Father became trilogy, which he was in again as Mike.

His most famous film the he's in, in my opinon would have to be the classic action film, Scarface which was released in 1983, about Tony Montana (Al Pacino) a small town chef who turns into the most powerful drug lord.

  1. Good biography. I think this guy is a legendary actor. I really liked him Scarface and I feel he played his character like nobody else can. He is definitely one of the best mob/mafia actors out there past and present. He is for sure one of my favorite actors ever.

  2. I agree with you. He`s very skilled and it just comes easily to him. He just has that intimidating image. In my opinion no one could ever pull off a better Scarface than Al Pacino. I find it cool how he can play such a crazy character like Scarface where he snorts cocaine and kills people and than he features in comedies like the movie Jack And Jill.

  3. Al Pacino is one of my favourite actors - the man's got talent, there's not a doubt. First off, it's crazy to think he's actually in his 70's! What is it with all these legendary actors becoming so old almost out of nowhere?! I find it amazing how many distinguished celebrities faced so many struggles in life before their talents were discovered. Great biography, by the way :)

  4. I know it's weird to think I'll the great actors are pushing 70 and 80! I think that's just it. To play roles like this you need to be aged with experience. I also agree with you, it's kind of funny how so many started off in the streets living off crack change and can goods, and they are now out there making millions.

  5. I love Al Pacino. Remember, he's not just an action movie star. He did an amazing job in 'Scent of a Woman' in which he played a blind man.

Don,t forget to add your opinion, favourite movies of his, etc. at the end of each blog. We can find this kind of biography anywhere, but it's your perspective and opinions that will make this blog unique.

  7. Every role that I've seen him he's never disappointed me. He's one of the couple of people that you can actually believe that they are the character that they portray to be. I also agree that scarface and the godfather trilogy were very great films that he starred in.
